Meeting No. 6
Proton radius fit
Our present analysis results in a radius that is smaller than the Bernauer
value. Harald suggested, that this might be related to the fitting procedure.
It is known that looking only at the low Q**2 data leads to a smaller radius!
Hence, I converted Bernauer CS data to GEp and use the data points to determine
my own radius, using only Q**2<0.02GeV**2. The corresponding mathematica file
is here:
FitFormFactorsBernauer.pdf
The analysis indeed leads to a smaller radius (approx. 0.85fm) which
is consistent with our values! See the following plot:
Question: Why it is important to consider high Q**2 data, when fitting
radius? The FFT formalism does not work for proton. Hence, high Q**2 data
should not have any influence on the befaviour of the FF at low Q**2???
